WILDLENS

Origin

Zawadi was photographing a herd of elephants when a lost baby okapi wandered into her camp. She sat with it all night until its mother came. At dawn, the mother looked into her camera lens, and Zawadi could suddenly see through the okapi's eyes. Any animal can now share its view with her, if it chooses to.

Powers

• Animal Eyes: with an animal's permission, sees through its eyes: hawk sight, owl night vision, bee ultraviolet
• Track Read: reads footprints and tracks to tell the whole story of who passed by
• Gentle Call: speaks a few calm words to any animal so it feels safe

Weakness

Loud engines and noise scramble her animal link.

Sidekick

Pip, a baby okapi with striped legs and huge ears who follows her everywhere.

Villain

Captain Clutter, Grimeon Grubb, who drives a giant trash-vacuum truck that dumps junk into animal homes; he learns to recycle.

Costume

a safari-green and khaki fitted explorer hero suit with sand panels, bark-brown boots, a camera-lens bracer and many useful pockets.

Episodes (every episode opens with a true fact)

1. Episode 1. True fact: An okapi is a forest animal related to the giraffe, not the zebra. Zawadi stays all night with a lost baby okapi until its mother returns. Next: She looks into the mother's eye and sees the forest through it.
2. Episode 2. True fact: An owl cannot move its eyes, so it turns its head instead. A child is lost in the bush at night. Wildlens borrows an owl's eyes and finds her. Next: A trail of trash leads into the elephants' watering hole.
3. Episode 3. True fact: Elephants can recognise themselves in a mirror. Captain Clutter dumps junk in the watering hole. Wildlens shows him the view through an elephant's eyes. Next: Grubb turns his truck into a recycling truck.
